To be or not to be is my mindset today. It has truly been a long day for me. This afternoon, I was hit by a SUV while driving home from work today. ( the Vandy college student managed to bump me just enough to scratch my bumper and crack it.) So picture me sitting in the middle lane during traffic time on Harding Place. Not a pretty picture! ( The Vandy girl whom hit me didn't want to call the cops..I know that's the funny part right? I guess she knew she would be in for rude awakening since she was at fault or maybe her insurance wasn't that great?) Anyhow, we exchanged information..I opted for the HONESTY method after speaking with my father. Now, I'm going to pray that this young lady does the right thing. ( I'm really feeling the aftermath right about now..my back is aching a little bit.)

In addition, I must say I had a blast last night with my close circle of friends at PF CHANGS celebrating my friend's birthday. ( I definitely needed that break) It's nothing like being with my besties and sharing great clean fun. :) Little did I know I would be in for a little more than I bargained for last night. I'M A SURVIVOR! Nevertheless, I'm here to deliver the news you can use.

GOT TIME?

There's a lot of things going on in my world. I feel as though TIME is of the essence at this point in my life. Lately, I have been preparing myself to get where I want to be with my career. I'm really LIVING my LIFE and taking the necessary measures to get where I feel I should be at this point. I can truly testify and say I'm BLESSED. I'm thankful for all the lessons,dreams,talents, and love GOD has manifested within me. This week, is truly a monumental period in my life and will reveal the next door of opportunity for me. I'm still waiting to hear from the horse's mouth at this point. I'm getting different stories from the regular news and entertainment sites.I try not to be a part of the rumor. Through all these mix ups and controversy, it seems we are forgetting the BIG picture...both of them grew up around environments with domestic abuse.( Chris Brown's mother was in an abusive relationship with his stepfather and Rihanna's parents would fight each other)..Apparently, close sources and articles have revealed this was not the first encounter for the couple. Mediatakeout, reported they had a violatle relationship for quite some time. My hearts and prayers are with Rihanna and Chris..they are both great entertainers and have a lot at stake. The fans are taking this hard and leaving comments everywhere from Myspace to Facebook.

133rd Annual Westminster Kennel Club show

I learned today that the winner of the Westminster Kennel Club show a Sussex spaniel. I love dogs. They are such sweet, smart and affecionate companions. When I saw the picture it made me think of my old English Cocker Spaniel I used to own "Baxter." Boy I miss my little dog..anyhow take a look at this adorable spaniel..

Good afternoon! One day before the Super Bowl and counting not that I'm really excited about who wins..it's just that I am ready to eat all the good food and share the laughs with my family. I have already gotten a lot done today.. OIL CHANGE, a visit to Wally World( you know Sat.'s are the days where you go and re up on things) and now I'm cleaning. ( I STILL GOT THIS CHINESE CRAVING I have been having for weeks..so let's see if I get it fulfilled today :) ) My next move, is to get things ready for TEAR OUT YOUR MOUF Tour. I CAN'T WAIT TO see this show! I'm so excited and I know I'm going to love every moment of it! Well that's enuff spill on me today hope your Saturday is FAB! Lets see what's going on today...





OBAMA'S HALF BROTHER ARRESTED

Well you know their going to keep trying to find a way to eat at Barack so what better way to do that then go to another continent Africa to be exact. Wow they really have nothing else better to do.. okay so his half brother George Obama was arrested today by the Kenyan police. It seems they found marijuana on him and he resisted the arrest. So what do you think is going to happen? In my opinion, I think their going to find a way to let him go and ACT as though this never happened.


Watch this interview Steve Harvey did on his book..I went looking for it at Borders Tuesday and they ha already sold out.. I'm going to be on the lookout for it though..because I know it's going to be a good read..if you listen to the strawberry letter in the mornings just imagine what the book has to offer...(MAN sometimes I feel like I COULD write a book on relationships..who knows maybe one day I will)

According to ESPN Mike Vick may be heading to halfway house anyday. He's serving his time for bankruptcy right now. Supposedly, he will be released July 20 but could serve the last few months of his term at a halfway house in Newport News his hometown. For more info click here

WAKE UP CALL!

Good evening, to everybody. I'm glad I got the chance to write today, because I was afraid I wouldn't have a blog today...at any rate I'm here to deliver DIVA Avenue to you. This Sunday, has been a productive day thus far. I went to church and got my word from GOD. Bishop Walker definitely provided a wake up call for me and so many others I'm sure..the sermon today was on BEING DEBT FREE AND GETTING YOUR FINANCES IN ORDER. He even brought in loads of bins that would be put into a shredder for the congregation to throw their credit cards and copies of bills in. I plan to cut up the few credit cards I have.

I definitely can testify and say I needed the wake up...I mean I pay my bills on time often ahead of schedule, but sometimes honestly I can admit I struggle with adding more debts to my list. Bishop Walker explained debt so simple and true. He informed me that borrowing is a form of "slavery." (I for one DO NOT WISH TO BE A SLAVE OR BECOME A SLAVE TO ANY DEGREE.) He provided me a new acroymn that is effective DEBT=Doing Everything But Tithing I must add that YES I do tithe.

Overall, the message was to get your finances in order, create a budget plan, eliminate your bills one at a time starting with the lowest one and work your way up, TITE, and live below your means and not splurge on things. ( I know I have some work to do with the splurging, but I do have a budget that I follow.) Well that's enough of my Sunday testimony. Here's some news you can use for today...

So you know everybody has been trying to reach BANK with Obama memorobilia..well this is just a things that makes me go uhmmm moment.. Ty Inc. the same company responsible for the beanie baby craze decided to make some dolls named Sweet Sasha and Marvelous Malia. They went to far with this..they are not HOT and they look nothing like the adorable Obama girls. I know Michelle has some words for them.
Their press secretary delivered a comment on the new dolls.

"We feel it is inappropriate to use young, private citizens for marketing purposes," Mrs. Obama's press secretary, Katie McCormick Lelyveld, said in a statement.

So what do you think about the dolls? In addition, I also noticed the Obama chia pet the other day... is that acceptable? I think they went a little overboard with both of these..

A RETAKE, OSCARS, AND OREILLY STRIKES AGAIN...

RETAKE...Hey everyone sorry I'm delivering my blog to you kinda of late today...but just like OBAMA HAD TO REDO HIS OATH TODAY..I WITNESSED MY FIRST BLOG MALFUNCTION and had to go back and fix it. On a good note, I put in my work today and managed to get by with a smile on my face and loads of laughs. Now, I just got home from voting on the BIG TALK OF THE TOWN IN TN WHETHER OR NOT ENGLISH SHOULD BE FIRST..well I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic? OSCAR NOMINATIONS REVEALED

Today the Oscar nominations were revealed and there were some obvious nominations like Brad Pitt's nomination in a leading role  and Taraji Henson for supporting role in  the wonderful story told in , The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,  Heath Ledger for best supporting role in  The Dark Knight and Angelina Jolie for Changeling.  On the other hand, 10 major nominations were surprisingly delivered to the cast and director of Slumdog Millionaire on the TODAY SHOW.  If your curious about all the nominations  click here.

I definitely think Taraji Henson deserves an Oscar for her role in Benjamin Button and I  PRAY and hope the Oscar committee makes the right decision. ( They better not rob my girl! )

Obama redid the oath today, after a first go round  where  the messenger "Chief Justice Roberts", delivered the oath all wrong fumbling over words.  OBAMA once again stepped up to the plate and PROVES he is the BIG MAN on campus by  allowing him to adminster the oath again.  You may be asking when did this happen? It was yesterday at 7:35 pm  in the White House Map Room.  You can compare both oaths here.

MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK...ON THIS DAY JANUARY 20,2009 I CAN SAY I'M TRULY BLESSED TO SEE OUR 44TH PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA make history as the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN AND FIFTH YOUNGEST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! As I sit here, glued to the TV embracing this moment with family and being a witness to one of the greatest days in AMERICAN HISTORY.. I rest assured that YES WE CAN! be whomever we want to be and have what we are destined to have in life as African Americans. I WILL BE WHAT I'M DESTINED TO BE AND HAVE WHAT GOD SAYS I CAN HAVE! A STELLAR SATURDAY...

I woke up this Saturday morning bright and early for me yet again, round 8:30 a.m( after a wake up call), after another chilly night where it was unbearable for me to be owt. I just slept in and decided to catch me some dreams . So This Stellar Saturday..I'm ready to get up, get owt, and do something. I know there's some entertainment in town here for the Stella Awards, but without a ticket that really doesn't get me anywhere... then there's always the movies... I do want to see Notorious..and I was invited to a friend's surprise party...OR I could always just hit the road...at any rate TODAY is A STELLAR day and I encourage everybody to read my scoop today and then go do something out of the NORM ( I always try to think outside the box and try new things)

JERMAINE DUPRI LEAVES DEF JAM

Jermaine Dupri is owt for good with Def Jam. In a recent Essence interview, Dupri said he was leaving because, "It was a situation where it felt very stagnant to me. As a person who is used to putting out new records and continuing to do that, it just wasn’t turning over as being that place to me where I should stick to it and see if it was going to turn around."

I think it may have had something to do with Janet. I mean what man is going to stand behind a company that talked down on his woman and let her go. Well whatever the real reason is, I wish Jermaine Dupri the best in all endeavors because he is definitely a hit maker and down to earth cat. I actually meet him last year at his new club Studio 72 during my Birthday Extravaganza.

Okay so I know everyone knows about the foul mouthed and abusive leading model Naomi Campbell's troubles with her former housemaid. Well, they finally reached a settlement that allowed Naomi to walk away and but a smile on Gaby Gibson 's (former housemaid) face. Recall, this case was all brought on when Campbell reportedly beat her with a cell phone, verbal abused her, and accussed of her of stealing a pair of jeans. Wow! I mean come on how many pairs of jeans does Naomi have? She is a FOOL! Yes, I said it a fool for abusing someone over some jeans when she can simply just order another pair at the drop of a hat. I hope she learned her lesson this time and she stays away from her housemaids to come.

5 DAYS AND COUNTING! We are getting closer to the big day. Obama will be sworn into office next Tuesday Jan. 20, 2009. Are you ready..I sure am! He has come a mighty long way..MSNBC reported Obama had broke bread last night by having dinner with the conservatives who we all know are the enemy. Big ups to Obama for being the bigger man in this case.

PUT A HALT ON EATING Austin- and Keebler-branded sandwich crackers!! ( I KNOW IT'S HARD BUT YOU DO WANNA LIVE DON'T YOU!) CNN has reported Toasted peanut butter sandwich crackers,Peanut butter and jelly sandwich crackers, Cheese and peanut butter sandwich crackers, and Peanut butter-chocolate sandwich crackers are filled with salmonella.The recent outbreak has affected at least 434 people in 43 states.

I know I love my Peanut butter sandwich crackers when I'm breaking throughout the day,but I'm not going to risk it and you shouldn't either. Keep the word going people.


PATRICK SWAYZE FIGHTS THE BATTLE

I know it's been a while since I mentioned the Today Show so I actually got a sample of the show today when they were talking about Patrick Swayze, whom is fighting pancreatic cancer and has pneumonia.

It seems like yesterday, I was just watching him move so smooth and effortlessly in his famous movie Dirty Dancing. It's sad to hear that he is fighting this battle with cancer and all the nasty rumors people spread. On the show, they stated that he is holding up longer than the average person who fights the disease.( I will definitely be keeping him in prayers..CANCER IS A HARD DISEASE TO DEAL WITH.) On a more positive note, Mr. Swayze is still pursuing his love of acting with a new show that airs on A&E called The Beast, where he plays a veteran FBI agent.

For those of you who are planning to head to the Super Bowl or be in Tampa that weekend you should definitely check out the Snoop Bowl VII. Snoop Bowl VII is hosted by Capture Entertainment and Productions, and kicks off January 31, 2009 at 1:00 PM in Tampa at Gaither High School.Snoop is contributing to his community and help impact the lives of kids with his Snoop Football League. The players range from age 7-13.

The Snoop Dogg football league has been in effect for about 7 years and been successful in raising over $50,000 towards charities.It is good to put your money towards a positive movement, especially when children are involved. ( God knows I'm counting down the days and hours for this day.) Today, Barack has opted to have $350 billion in remaining bailout funds. President Bush will carry out the request for funds, however it will not be available until Inauguration Day **JANUARY 20,2008.*** SO MARK YOUR CALENDAR EVERYBODY. In addition, I would like to add that Barack Obama has decided Rev. Sharon Watkins pastor of the Protestant denomination will deliver the sermon for the National Prayer Service held on Jan. 21 at the National Cathedral in D.C. ( THIS WILL TRUELY BE HISTORICAL..SINCE SHE IS THE FIRST WOMAN TO EVER TAKE PART IN THIS TRADITION. I LOVE IT!)

A NEW BEGINNING FOR AMERICAN IDOL


Kate DioGuardi new judge for American Idol.
It's almost that time again..get ready to experience loads of laughs, wild costumes, screeching voices, special serenades, pop, rock, country, and R& B music as American Idol moves into its eighth season Tuesday on Fox. This year, get ready for a few changes in your American Idol line up. First off, there is a new addition to the judging panel with newcomer Kate DioGuardi, who has wrote hits for Celine Dion, Pink, Christina Aguilera and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson. There will be 36 semi-finalists vs 24 they allowed in the past. Also, there will be more emphasis on the emotions of the contestants. ( As if this is really needed? I always feel like they GO WAY OVERBOARD with some of this contestants stories.) We will find out soon enough if the new formula stirs up the TV ratings and viewer audience.




Since we are on American Idol.. Did you know that Fantasia Barrino was in jeopardy of losing her $1.1 million dollar home in Charlotte, NC ? ( I mean I don't get how celebs don't keep up with their homes..do they think these homes are free?)Luckily, she got her an attorney Larry Goldman to step in and make a good deal because the Mecklenberg County Sheriff office was ready to step in today to sell the home.

On Jan. 7, 2009 the big premiere for then new Biggie movie , "Notorious" took place in Manhattan CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS. This movie is set to hit theaters this weekend starting January 16. From all the coverage here lately and reviews I'm not so sure if this will be a hit or flop in the theaters. According to MTV, Biggie's 11 year old son Christopher Wallace Jr. plays his dad in the movie. I guess we can give it ONE CHANCE... I do HOWEVER WANNA TO SAY BIG UPS TO JADAKISS WITH THIS NEW JOINT "Letter to Biggie" feat. Faith Evans...
