AT LAST!!!

AT LAST! Man Today was a great day..and I'm thankful to GOD that I was here to live through history. It is still sinking in for me that PRESIDENT BARACK is here and ready to make changes so that we can better our nation and grow as Americans. IT's like a dream come true..AT LAST! I can't help but wish and reflect on my great grandma, Dr. King, Malcolm X and those loved ones who are not here,that paved the way so we could be here today. Can you imagine if Tupac was still here what he would say?.."Yes NOW WE ARE READY TO HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT!" As Biggie once, said The "Sky is the Limit." As a young,ambitious, strong,intelligent African-American woman I can say Obama has truly encouraged and inspired me to dig deep within myself and by any means necessary GO GET MY DREAMS! I will be a famous writer and YOU WILL SEE MY NAME IN EBONY MAGAZINE!(You heard it here first and remember this blog!)

I already know God has instilled a great deal inside of me and he is ordering my steps to do what I was made to here on Earth. In fact, just Monday on MLK day I made some moves to start writing for a magazine on the music tip. I can't give you all the details right now, but I can say BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR STYLISTAKT because I'm making moves. Well, that is my testimony for today..(LOL YOU KNOW I HAVE TO GET IT IN FROM TIME TO TIME) Let's get the ball rolling...


AT LAST the highly anticipated FIRST Dance took place at the Neighborhood Ball..this was so beautiful it made me wanna cry. I can't wait to have my first dance one day..lol..anyhow take a look..

OBAMA MAKES MOVES

Well I guess if you watched the news today or took the time to read online newspapers, CHANGE is already coming to the White House. Obama issued new limits on lobbyists in his White House and a freeze on salaries of high-paid aides, in a effort to repair the country's economic turmoil (THANKS BUSH!. This will affect those with high-profile jobs as White House chief of staff, national security adviser and press secretary.

The rule of thumb will be as follows: (Taken from AJC) Obama's new lobbying rules will not only ban aides from trying to influence the administration when they leave his staff. Those already hired will be banned from working on matters they have previously lobbied on, or to approach agencies that they once targeted.
The rules also ban lobbyists from giving gifts of any size to any member of his administration. Obama is showing us that in order to fix the problem you have START AT HOME..What are your thoughts on this? ( I'm ready to hear your feedback...)

KENNEDY IS GOOD!

I'm happy to see that Sen. Edward M. Kennedy is doing well after experiencing a seizure yesterday while at the Obama luncheon yesterday. Kennedy's office confirmed left the Washington Hospital Center, where he stayed overnight for observation, and was resting at home. Kennedy has been under treatment for a brain tumor since last spring according to AJC.com. ( I wish you a healthy and speedy recovery MR. Kennedy!)

Watch this interview with Michelle Obama's designer Jason Wu..one things for sure he will be rolling into more dough by handmaking the First Lady's gown..It was elegant and it reminded me of Jackie Kennedy's ensemble back in the day..what did you think?

MICHELLE'S STYLIST IS IN THE BIG LEAGUES..

Well word has that Michelle Obama's stylist Johnny Wright, (who is also a stylist for Vivica Fox,Rebecca Gayheart and "Sex & the City" writer Candace Bushnell) has landed himself a reality series through 44 Blue production company. It will be like a makeover type show. Can we say Split Ends?..that's what I'm thiking it will be more along the lines of. I just hope he can spin it to where it's something new and refreshing to watch..



IT'S OFFICIAL LIKE A WHISTLE..

Today was another big day for history as Hillary Clinton won her final approval for Secretary of State in 94 to 2 vote. It's so great to see a woman stepping up to take on this role and she has the credentials after serving 8 years on the Senate. Go Hillary! She will officially take up her new job as Secretary of State with a welcoming ceremony for her on Thursday at the State Department.



KIMORA BABY PHAT( RUMOR OR TRUTH!)



I knew it would only be a matter of time before 32 year old model/entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons and her famed 43 year old boyfriend Djimon Hounsou best known for his role in BLOOD DIAMONDS went half on a baby. I just wonder if the new addition, we call for a season three of The Fabolous Life of Kimora Lee Simmons? ( I'm crossing my fingers and hoping so) I can just imagine her two daughters by Simmons now..they will definitely be in full effect and trying to run things for the baby. My next thought, I know your all wondering is will she try to start a New Baby Phat line for newborns?! Only time will tell..stay on the lookout. All the best to Kimora and Djimon with the baby!

HUDSON MURDERER PLEAS NOT GUILTY..WHAT?????

I'm saddened to deliver this news to you, but did you know that William Balfour,( Jennifer Hudson's sister crazy ex husband) has plead NOT GUILTY! WTF..I mean it was so sad hearing this happened to the HUDSON family and now this idiot is trying to lie about his terrible acts of violence. RIDICULOUS! I don't know about you guys, but I hope he FRIES in the electric chair. Balfour is currently incarcerated and is due back in court January 27, 2009. Curious to know your thoughts on this especially..what do you think they should do with this Nutcase?

GADGETS, Recognition, and A Moment of Silence ...

Hi Everybody! Today has been a busy day for me..Times like this I'm REALLY grateful to have my trusty gadgets. I mean what would I do without my Instinct or my MACBOOK?! I would be one sick and lost puppy. Not that I'm just a TECH JUNKIE..let's just say I fall in the category of "NEW-NEW" ( I rock all the New Stuff that's hot before everyone else usually jumps on the wagon.) I mean come on what else can you expect I'm just Stylista KT.

I remember last year when the Instinct phone was about to come out it was like a big craze with Sprint. They sent me personal emails where you could watch video tutorials(which consumers never watch lol)and then at the store they would have the life-size card board display. Now, after having this phone I can admit it doesn't compare to its AT&T competitor " THE APPLE I-PHONE." Well guess I just have to chalk that purchase up and just be grateful I did the right thing by purchasing my MacBook.

ANYHOW, this morning on "THE TODAY SHOW", a sister couldn't help but notice how fast technology changes with the new and upcoming 2009 gadgets premiering at the International Consumer Electronics Trade Show in Las Vegas.

RECOGNITION

Now you know I just love my award shows, so I sat down and watched some of People's Choice Award show. I don't know how many of you watched it on CBS but here is my brief rundown: My hometown favorite Reese Weatherspoon won Favorite Female Star of the Year, sexy Will Smith Won Best Male Action Actor of the Year (he did his thang in his new movie Seven POUNDS), Ellen DeGeneres took home talk show of the year( I mean who can resist the dance moves and watching Ellen Get low on stage lol) and host Queen Latifiah was rewarded for her role in the The Secret Life of Bees. The top winner was Dark Knight, which in my opinion was ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES IN 2008.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE...

I couldn't end without mentioning The Travolta FAMILY. PAUSE.. CAN WE PLEASE HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE? Rest in Peace Jett Travolta. I can only imagine what today must have been like for this family. My heart and prayers are with you during this HARD SEASON . Death is hard to deal with no matter the circumstance. It is something that seems to be hitting everyone these days. I think that's why its so important to talk to people, live each day to the fullest, tell the person you LOVE THEM, and most importantly getting yourself right with God or whoever you believe in.
