WELCOME TO DIVA AVENUE! This is a new outlet for me to express my thoughts on entertainment, music ,FASHION, sports and any other features that come to mind. (All are areas that I EAT,SLEEP AND BREATHE ON A DAILY BASIS!)
This past week has been one to go down in history nationally and personally for me. I'm still not wanting to believe that Michael is gone.. :( I just never can say goodbye. It's a shame that he was not received like this when he was alive and now after he dies it's like everyone is trying to bring more controversy... I just would like to see the media focus on all the POSITIVES HE BROUGHT AS A MUSIC DEITY.. HE HAS INSTILLED SO MUCH INTO MY GENERATION AND MANY BEFORE ME. As I look around my house, family members, friends, and talk to my parents I can't help, but notice how much his made an impact on our lives. Everyone has a story or a memory whether it be a bad dream from seeing the "Thriller" video at a young age, moonwalking, making a handmade glove out of socks lol, or better yet singing and dancing along as though we were Mike.
Last night, BET honored our "KING of Pop" Michael Jackson through songs, fashion, and speeches upon receiving awards. It was nice to see everyone come together to showcase their LOVE,SUPPORT,AND RESPECT FOR MIKE. Although, I must admit I wasn't too happy to see the Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, and Jay Z performances b/c I felt like they were not in accordance with the whole concept of the show. How did you feel about that? I mean these guys would not be at their status now if it wasn't for Mike who paved the way for them. Ne how that's my spill on that. There was a lot of wonderful tribute performances and highlights this year... So let's get on with the show!

I NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE... I DON'T BELIEVE THIS DAY IS HERE. MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON DIED FROM CARDIAC ARREST?! I'M SO WANTING THIS TO BE A BAD DREAM. :( YESTERDAY ED MCMAhon "The man who promised us all we would win MILLIONS AND STAR SEARCH HOST" DIED, THIS MORNING WHILE AT WORK I HEARD FARRAH FAWCETT "FAMOUS CHARLIE'S ANGEL" SUCCUMBED TO CANCER AND NOW MJ! ( You ever heard that saying death comes in 3's?) It's like I'm seeing my life flash before me right now.. I mean that in the sense when I was born MJ was at the peak of his career. I recall as a little girl dancing to his music nonstop , having my record player with his face on it, and LET ME NOT DARE FORGET MY MOONWALKER MOVIE! I SO LOVED IT AS A LITTLE GIRL. I WOULD WATCH IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN LIKE IT WAS A PREMIERE EACH TIME.
A part of all of us from each generation have memories and music to to last us a lifetime. I think it's important in these times to reflect on all the positive things MJ did for ALL PEOPLE..YES ALL PEOPLE.. BLACK, WHITE, MEXICAN, ASIAN, AFRICAN YOU NAME IT .. HE SHOWED US SO MUCH THROUGH HIS 50 YEARS. MOST IMPORTANT THING HE GAVE EVERYONE WAS HIS GENUINE LOVE! I don't believe there was harmful thing about Mike, besides the fact that he loved being a big kid. From all the interviews, and coverage today it is relevant to mention Mike was really LONELY and he went through so much from childhood to this point.
In one of his interviews, he explained "Childhood" as his most personal song and testimony to his life. (So for those who don't know him or would like to know more bout him on personal level maybe listen there first.)
As I was watching, CNN news coverage and late tonight the Special Larry King had at 11pm, I noticed how he had impacted each generation from our parents, those of us in our prime years, and the teenagers. It will BE MANDATORY AND IMPORTANT THAT WE KEEP HIS VOICE ALIVE FOR THOSE GENERATIONS WHO WILL GROW UP IN A WORLD WITH NO MJ. IT'S LIKE AMERICAN HISTORY IN MY BOOK WE MUST INVEST HIS SEED INTO MUSIC HISTORY AND MAKE IT A POINT TO LET HIS LIGHT LIVE ON AND SHINE THROUGH EACH OF US! IT'S WHAT HE WOULD'VE WANTED. MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO ALL THE FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LOVED ONES! MAY WE ALL STAY STRONG TOGETHER, AND KEEP THE LOVE ALIVE. EVERYONE SEND UP A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR THE FAMILIES SERIOUSLY, ONE CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE HURT AND PAIN THEIR FACING IN THESE TIMES!
Well usually I update you guys on what's going on with me, but today is so MUCH BIGGER THAN ME THIS DAY WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO.. It's almost here the close of another long week. I'm counting down as always and still preparing for Father's Day! Don't forget Father's Day is this Sunday so be sure to call your dad up, spend some time with him, and at least get a card. After all it is thought that matters. ( Sure...I think that's just a nice gesture people loove to use. lol ) Anyhow, I missed my blog yesterday due to the technical difficulties with the storm, which delivered me with much needed rest. Yes, recently a federal jury Thursday found a 32-year-old Minnesota woman guilty of illegally downloading music from the Internet. They fined her for $80,000 each which was a total of 1.9 million. According to CNN,Jammie Thomas-Rasset’s case was the first such copyright infringement case to go to trial in the United States, her attorney said.

It's finally the WEEKEND BABY! YES I'M SO GLAD.. I GOT TO SLEEP IN FOR A LIL BIT. So far I have a had a productive day. I payed some bills, ran some errands, and now looking forward to some relaxation. It's a pretty day so I know most of you are out and an d about painting the city. So yesterday I was reading online that the rumor that Usher Raymond ( one of my favorite R&B singers) and Tamika his wife had filed for divorce was FALSE...WELL TODAY CONFIRMATION HAS CAME OUT THAT USHER RAYMOND IS DIVORCED! FACE DROP ..PICK IT BACK UP! LOL.. LADIES I KNOW THAT MAKES US EXCITED AS FANS ..BC NO LIE IS IT JUST ME OR DO YOU FEEL LIKE HIS MUSIC FELL OFF WHEN HE WAS MARRIED TO THAT LADY? No disrespect to her or Usher I'm just stating the facts...NOW MAYBE HE CAN COME BACK AND DELIVER THE OLD MUSIC THAT WE LOVED AND THE DANCES...
WELL LIKE LAST MONTH ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS THE GAME STARRING POOCH HALL AKA "DERWIN" WAS SHUT DOWN BY CW NETWORK. THE SHOW WAS NO 1 FOR LIKE 3 SEASONS... I WAS DEEPLY SADDENED TO HEAR THEY WERE TAKING THE SHOW OFF B/C IT WAS ALWAYS full of real case scenarios for relationships , the plot was awesome, and LADIES we loved to see us some DERWIN...OHHHWEEE!!! WELL WE KNOW HE'S A TALENTED SINGER.. word has it that Brian McKnight is looking to fill the old shoes of Arsenio Hall and host a late night show that will air on the weekend with 218 CW affiliates. What do you think of this? He's not exactly my idea of a TALKSHOW HOST..BUT BEST OF LUCK TO HIM...

MY HOW TIME FLIES BY...the seasons have changed we are in the hot months of summer finally. I know you all have been on your summer weekend getaways,cruise family vacation, romantic picnics, or one of my personal favorites swimming or relaxing on a beach with beautiful white sand and palm trees. Good vision huh! That's a good dream for me...I hope to fufill it along with my DESTINY SOON! I know everyone keeps saying to be PATIENT and my time will come. Patience is truly a virtue and I"M working on it still. I did however get blessed with a great word from Bishop Walker on Sunday.
He was right on time! He talked about transitioning and moving into fulfilling your destiny. I'm still growing and learning more about life and myself each day. I am blessed and highly favored. I rest assured that God is preparing through the growing pains , ups and downs, and heartaches for HIS PURPOSE. Although, I must say I have been going through some rough times it's all bigger than me and for REASON and I'm waiting for my SEASON and GOD knows it!
